The People’s Emergency Briefing film was launched on 7 April and is being screened in churches and community spaces across the country. Here’s the trailer:
How you can get involved
The film
- Help organise a community screening of the film based on the event
- You can express interest in helping to host a screening in your area
- If you have a smart phone, we highly recommend you also sign up with Zero Hour – and select ‘yes’ when they ask if they can put you in touch with other campaigners in your area so you can share the load, reach more people, and have more fun
- With other Christian organisations we are creating a resource for churches to make it easy for you to host the film in your church, which will be up here w/c 20 April
- Promotion
- Some suggested text for your PCC or church council to explain why you want your church involved in this
- A template Parish Magazine article
- Canva templates for flyers and posters (You’ll need to go to ‘file’ and ‘make a copy’ and then you’ll be able to edit your copy.)
- After the screening
- Also, wouldn’t it be super if every bishop in the House of Lords signed the Parliamentary Call for a Televised Emergency Briefing? Is your bishop in the House of Lords? If so, check out to see if they have signed the Parliamentary Call. If they haven’t, please write to them and explain how important it is for them to do so

The petition
- Sign and share with everyone you know this letter asking for an urgent televised national emergency briefing for the public, and for a comprehensive public engagement campaign so that everyone understands the profound risks this crisis poses to themselves and their families.
- Please also write to your MP asking them to support a Parliamentary Call for the televised briefing

How can we get this message through to the top of the government? Why don't they tax fossil fuels more and introduce a frequent flyer levy? This Labour Government does not seem to understand the climate emergency any more than the previous Tory one.
